BRAD STONE
AMAZON UNBOUND: JEFF BEZOS AND THE INVENTION OF A GLOBAL EMPIRE (2021)
Winner of the Financial Times and Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year Award.
Jeff Bezos was born in 1964; his father was 19, and his mother was a 17 year old high school student. His parents divorced when he was 17 months old, and his mother re-married a Cuban immigrant Mike Bezos, who adopted Jeff.
Bezos is the founder of Amazon - an American world leader in e-commerce and cloud computing. From 2017 to 2021 he was judged by Forbes as the richest person in the world. His wealth in November 2024 was estimated at $217 billion.
This book is a sequel to Brad Stone’s prize winning biography of Bezos - The Everything Store - published ten years previously. It describes the dramatic, and sometimes problematic, development of Amazon into a massive global company.
